Guitar hand made?? is good?

im from Syria .. and we don't have so much good guitars here and i dont trust shops here even.. so i have contacted with some great good ppl from states. and he will send for me a guitar ( hand made ) he seems very experienced man bu in general is the acoustic guitar hand made? is better than machine one ?
