Why did mcain vote against raising minimum wage 5 times?

While it's nice to get an increase, increasing the minimum wage puts an additional financial burden upon the employer, especially the smaller "mom and pop" places, causing possible job loss. The employee should strive to better himself in the workplace with increased training or schooling. It's tough, but oh so rewarding to look back when it's over and say, "wow, I did it". Corny, maybe, but oh so rewarding.
