Can anyone here justify the wastage of fuel and destruction of environment by NASCAR?

is the fact that the people you elect to office use/waste more fuel on our dollars than nascar attempts to use matter to you...if you want to help matters complaing to your representatives about their wastes of fuel auto and plane etc...
