There can be several reasons for this. The 2 most likely, given that you have brochitis, are that you have pleurisy (inflammation the lining of your pleural cavity, causing it to rub against the outer lining), or that you have costochondritis (inflammation of the cartilidge between your ribs). Unfortunately, not a lot can be done about either of these except pain control. If it continues for more that a day or two, and doesn't get better, you should try to contact the doctor who saw you the other day.
